Spring at Le Petit Village

Spring is a lovely time at Le Petit Village with warm days, frost tinged mornings and scented blossom in the orchard. It’s a great time for birdwatching and a real treat is to listen to the beautiful songs of the nightingales in the darkness of the night.
The landscape is coming to life and the white Charolais cows are returned to the fields. Young calves, goats, rabbits, deer and wild boar can also be seen as you explore the countryside and forests, whether by foot, on a bike, by car or on horseback.   The local winemakers pay particular attention to the temperatures at this time of year as they protect their precious vines from an unexpected sharp frost.
Easter is an important time for friends and family in France mass celebrated in many of the rural churches and various festivities.
Events include the Auxerrois Wine Fair in March and the Medieval fair in Semur in May which takes over the town, and includes jousting, parades, fencing, horseracing and concerts.
