Spring is a lovely time at Le Petit Village with warm days, frost tinged mornings and scented blossom in the orchard. The trees and flowers are bursting into life, and the surrounding fields are a mass of vibrant yellow or fresh green.
The famous white Charolais cows are returned to the fields with their calves. Birds of prey, deer and wild boar can also be spotted as you explore the countryside and forests. Easter is the weekend when the tourist season really kicks off in Burgundy. The chateaux and museums re-open and events include the Salon des Vins in Tonnerre during Easter weekend , and the wonderfully atmospheric Medieval fair in Semur en Auxois in May which includes jousting displays, food, music and a medieval market.
